As a patient, I felt disregarded. I wish my physician, Dr. Khapra, took my procedure seriously throughout the procedure and after. I should have received my post-op diagnosis when I spoke my physician after the procedure. I felt neglected as a patient. This was a waste of money and a waste of service. Either she is terrible at communicating or she made it difficult to talk, which only escalated the problem. The office said I should be able to talk to her through the online portal but no one answered me back. Now I wished I looked at her reviews before scheduling an appointment.

I am an existing patient and tried to make an appointment for a painful ulcer. Receptionist said Dr. Khapra was booked for two months. Best he said he could do was to get me in with a PA (which was fine) but not until two weeks later via telemed (not fine). How can you do a breath test for bacteria via telemed, and why are there no openings for existing patients with urgent issues? I had also called and left a message for Dr. Khapra’s nurse the day earlier but she did not return my call. This is such a badly run practice, which is really a shame because Dr. Khapra is great when she’s not elusive.

Extremely unreliable in terms of availability. I got an appointment for my mother with a wait of 2 months. After a month a got a call saying that the doctor was canceling the appointment and the next appointment is another 2 months out. So 4 months wait. Even at the scheduled appointment Dr Khapra is consistently late. Patients are encouraged to see physician assistants instead. It’s time Dr Khapra stopped accepting new patients. This is bringing a bad name to the GANV practice.

Dr. Khapra is an excellent gastroenterologist with laudable credentials. And what’s more, has a generous, upbeat personality and is always a pleasure to see -- almost as healing as any medicine! After Dr. Khapra sees you, you always leave, feeling your problem is solved. She always knows the correct direction to pursue and explains things in the most understandable way. She listens intently and is open to making changing after receiving feedback, often a rarity. Anyone would be fortunate to be in Dr. Khapra’s care.

Doctor Asma Khapra was referred to me by a 5 star OBGYN who has been voted Top Doctor multiple years in a row in our region. But even with that, I made 3 appointments with different gastrointestinal doctors to essentially interview them and discuss the issues I was having. I wound up choosing Dr. Khapra and thank goodness I did. Her approach was very different from the other Dr’s I interviewed and her reasoning was based specific logical points.

Besides having a wonderful (kind) bedside manner she is sharp as a tack. I am old enough to have met some terrible doctors but young enough that I was not a typical gastrointestinal patient case. Had she not been attentive, I may have developed cancer over the course of my lifetime. My procedure was painless, the staff attentive, and the Doctor very thorough (without giving anyone any details you can imagine what I am talking about). I cannot say enough positive things. In our area of rushed appointments, and a feeling of not being a patient but instead an insurance file number – THIS doctor is a gem who cares.

Dr Khapra and staff are fantastic. Dr Khapra was recommended to me by my PCP as the best GI Dr around and very very intelligent and also a great bedside manner. I completely agree with my PCP drs opinion. Dr Khapra listened to me and was the first Dr to ever address my GI issues ive had since birth and im feeling much better. The staff has been very responsive via portal and phone for clinical stuff and appointments. Very happy to have found Dr Khapra and staff.

Dr. Khapra is an ok doctor but it's impossible to get an appointment with her, even for a procedure follow up! She performed my endoscopy but then no one called me to tell me the results. I had to track them down which is also impossible because the wait time on the phone is extremely long. After I got my results from her nurse, I couldn't get an appointment to discuss my prognosis because the calendar is booked months in advance. Also billing is another issue. I was overcharged but no one thought of crediting me the money. I only found out because I needed detailed statement for FSA card. I asked them to send me a refund check but it's been months and I haven't received it. Now I have to hunt down billing!

No one is ever at the office, no one ever emails you back even in emergency situations. I cannot get prescriptions filled, I cannot get appointments placed, I haven’t spoken to my doctor, Asma Khapra, in months because she will not respond. The nurse, Sophia Kim, is also terrible at responding and is generally apathetic. Because of them, I missed my Stelara dose which triggered a severe flair and was ignored for several days before the situation was even addressed. I’ve called numerous times over numerous days just to go to voicemail every time with no response. My emails don’t get responses, and my appointment requests are ignored. It doesn’t matter if I call, use the portal, etc. You might as well try getting a wall to treat your Crohn’s disease, you’d probably have a better response.
