I always buy all my products at Sephora Melbourne central and today at late afternoon I’ve had a very bad experience, enough to make me feel like write a review.
Went to get three of my favourite products but because the shop is a bit smaller and different now, I couldn’t find the products as quick as I used to and was in a hurry. So I asked a blonde staff member (I saw the name Glam or something like that on her blouse) for the Anastasia eye liner, she seemed SO bored, not even a little smile and it felt as she was pushed to move from the place she was doing nothing to help me. In a very lazy mood she pointed me the area where the eye liner was and then quick walked away from me, cero kindness, didn’t even gave me the product and didn’t ask if I needed help with something else as people in this kind of shops use to do in costumer service. Later I couldn’t remember the name of my favourite contour so I asked another staff member describing the HUDABEAUTY tantour that is square shape, black top and pink with white letters. Ironically she didn’t help me but called the same blonde girl to assist me (both times she was standing next of one of the shelves doing nothing, is like, girl help the costumers or do something) Same thing! She moved in a very lazy way, not kind, looked around and said to me that because they changed the shop maybe the product was not there but honestly she didn’t make the minimum effort to find it. At the end I found it myself and it was actually on stock. So it’s so bad that because she felt lazy to help me she said it wasn’t on stock when it actually was.
Didn’t get any help at all and what’s funny is that at the end I also had the bad luck to found her at the counter with the same cero energy. It’s so bad because most people enjoy shopping and this kind of situations are not fun and disappointing.
That girl seemed like she was forced to be there, honestly, not even a little smile at any moment, even at the counter where they always smile being nice and her lack of energy and motivation to help was irritating.
A shop like Sephora should have a great costumer service all the time, the price of the products are not exactly cheap so please provide the costumer a nice experience at your shop.

I had an amazing experience with Sinit here!! She is genuinely so helpful and patient. She helped me try on many different products while giving advice as to what I should go for. She is a fantastic beauty advisor and made sure I was happy before I left. It is because of her expertise that I finally found the perfect foundation and concealer for my skin ❤️

I am writing to express my profound disappointment and frustration with the service I received at your store recently. The behaviour exhibited by one of your employees, who I believe was named Collette based on the name tag, was utterly unacceptable and unprofessional. Upon entering the store, I was completely ignored by Collette, who made no attempt to acknowledge my presence or offer any assistance. When I approached Collette for help, I was met with a look of disdain and was curtly informed that they had no time for me. This dismissive and contemptuous attitude was deeply hurtful and entirely uncalled for. As if this was not bad enough, Collette then proceeded to walk away, joining a group of coworkers. I witnessed them chatting and laughing, clearly at my expense. This behavior was not only disrespectful but also highly unprofessional. It left me feeling humiliated and deeply disappointed in the level of service at Sephora. As a long-time customer, I have always held Sephora in high regard, but this experience has severely tarnished my perception of your brand. The lack of basic courtesy and professionalism I encountered is inexcusable. I urge Sephora to reconsider the type of individuals they employ, as such behaviour drives loyal customers away. Unfortunately, due to this distressing incident, I will no longer be shopping at Sephora. Instead, I will be taking my business to Mecca, where I have consistently received excellent service and respectful treatment. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and appropriate measures are implemented to ensure such incidents do not occur in the future. No customer should have to endure such disrespectful treatment.

I believe that you should have a flexible return policy especially in the beauty industry, as it is so hard to get shades right and change of mind is so normal. I cannot believe that in this day and age we cannot even swap used but wrongly recommended products, previously I had no issues with returns at Sephora but I can't believe they changed it for the worst. Also, I always find that the customer service in all stores is the worst.

Even with the new renovations for this major city store, the customer service is appalling. Perhaps Sephora need to hire more team members if they are so under the pump that their employees dish out such bad attitudes (on a regular basis). Clearly the staff are unhappy.

From the girl with the blonde hair extensions and fake eyelashes being in a foul mood, to the perhaps trans south Asian girl talking about clientele behind their backs, this store really needs to lift their game.

Excellent service from Gabriela on Sunday 13th October. She was very friendly and helping us around the different products and was very helpful with us as we had little to no knowledge of lipstick products. Gabriela was showing us around very patiently and we absolutely appreciated the customer service.

Discriminatory and disappointing experience at Sephora Melbourne Central

I wanted to share a really disappointing experience I had while shopping at your Melbourne Central store on October 13th, 2024, around 3:15 PM.
While I was there, I noticed one of your employees-she was blonde, but I didn’t catch her name-was helping another customer before me. She was very warm and friendly with that customer, but when it was my turn, her attitude changed completely. She seemed unwelcoming and, frankly, a bit gruff. I asked her if there were any shopping bags left, and she flatly told me they had run out. I said that was fine and continued with my shopping, but her whole demeanor felt very off and dismissive.
When I went to pay and showed her my membership card, her attitude didn’t improve. she looked visibly annoyed and acted like assisting me was a burden. Then, after my purchase, she didn’t even say “thank you” or “have a good day,” which felt very rude.
What really upset me was that, as soon as I walked out of the store, I overheard another assistant ask a different customer if they needed a bag. This was moments after I had been told they were out of bags.
I’ve shopped at Sephora quite a few times, and this was by far the worst experience I’ve had.I strongly urge you to address this issue with urgency. I expect Sephora to take this complaint seriously and ensure that this kind of discriminatory behavior is not tolerated in the future.

Such an awsome welcoming experience! As someone with no beauty experience and a beginner i was assisted from start to finish with help in all aspects of the store. Reem who served me is such a beautiful person that she explained me everything in a very humble manner. She ensured all my needs and preferences for the products best for me. Would highly reccomend hunting her down specifically!
